Philly Cheese Steak Casserole is an easy ground beef casserole recipe with a Bisquick base and loaded with green peppers, onions, mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
Philly Cheese Steak Casserole is a hearty dinner recipe using lean ground beef and Bisquick mix.
This casserole is loaded with diced green peppers, onions and cheese to give it the flavours of Philly cheese steak sandwich.
This beef casserole recipe takes just under an hour from start to finish and serves six people.

To make this dish, I started by dumping two pounds of lean ground beef into a large saute pan over medium-high heat.
I crumbled the ground beef well as it cooked.
When the ground beef was partially cooked, I added some diced green peppers and diced onions to the pan.
I stirred the pepper and onions into the beef and continued cooking the mixture.
Once the ground beef was fully cooked, I drained the grease from the pan.
I added some water, brown gravy mix, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper to the pan.
I stirred all of the ingredients together well and let them simmer until no liquid remained in the pan.
Then I removed the pan from the heat.
I poured some Bisquick mix into a mixing bowl.
I added some water to the bowl with the Bisquick mix.
I stirred until no large lumps remained.
Then I poured the Bisquick batter into a greased 9 x 13 inch baking dish and spread it out evenly.
I added some mayo to the pan with the ground beef.
I stirred well.
Then I scooped the ground beef mixture over the Bisquick layer in the baking dish.
I sprinkled some shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese on top of the ground beef mixture.
Then I placed the dish in the oven and baked the casserole until the cheese was starting to brown on top and the Bisquick was lightly browned on the bottom of the pan.
I removed the pan from the oven and allowed the casserole to sit for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
This cheesy ground beef casserole is sure to please the entire family.
